I send my deepest sympathies to Christina's family and friends; Christina will be so greatly missed. I remember that she made me feel welcome to join the Bardi Orchestra. Christina taught me cello in my teens and thanks to Christina's teaching I was able to pass my intermediate and upper grades, and I got a place in the Leicestershire School's Symphony Orchestra. I remember Christina's mum accompanying me in the occasional practice for an upper grade exam. When I was a school girl, I remember that Christina once took me to hear a lunch-time concert, a cello recital at New Walk Museum and Art Gallery, and she dropped me back at school afterwards, she really did such nice things like that! We only joked before Christmas that I was (perhaps) her oldest former pupil - coming from Christina, this was meant kindly, of course. When I joined Bardi, I would follow her bowing avidly; Christina always sat on the inside front desk of Bardi for so many years, and eventually I sat on the desk behind her, and I would be glued to her bowings throughout. She always had a smile, she was such a pleasant and lovely person. I think Christina was one of the nicest people I ever knew and I am proud she was my friend and am very sad at her loss.

A gentle, kind soul loved by many, taken far too soon.
